Course Overview

From the WSU DTC course catalog:

201 [ARTS] Tools and Methods for Digital Technology (3 credits)
An introduction to the tools and methods of production for multimedia authoring in digital contexts.

Material covered will include an introduction of the technical considerations regarding digital image production, the use of vector and bitmap graphics. Conceptual aspects of design and composition will also be covered with an emphasis on creative and critical thinking.

This course satisfies the WSU UCORE Arts requirement.

Course Work

This course is entirely online and asynchronous. Across 4 units of learning, you will be provided with:

• Online materials to read or watch. Some of these are learning videos from Adobe and other sources.
• Activities to complete. Most of these require that you post something in a discussion.
• Larger "Major Projects" to work on during each unit.
• Unit exams.

Some extra credit opportunities will be provided during the course.
